So you give it all
In the world today
You say it's all about the passion
And the wars you wage
I'm not sayin'
I'm one for violence
But it keeps me hangin' on
It's a casual affair
When everybody loves you
Oh they'll pay top dollar
Make you wear the dog collar
When everybody loves you
I said I'm not afraid of change
I'm not afraid to lose
They say it's all about the sacrifice
And the weapons you choose
Like I said I'm not one for violence
But it keeps me hangin' on
It's a casual affair
When everybody loves you
Oh they'll pay top dollar
Make you wear the dog collar
When everybody loves you
It's a casual affair
When everybody loves you
Oh they'll pay top dollar
Make you wear the dog collar
When everybody loves you
It's a casual affair
When everybody loves you
Oh they'll pay top dollar
When everybody loves you
It's a casual affair
It's a casual affair

Tonic is one of my favorite bands, and this is one of my favorite songs by them. They lyrics are not only great, but the way it's sung sounds so awesome.

As a third party, I sit back and watch that person that everybody loves. I grip to violent thoughts to keep my jealousy under control. I know that its all no use. Its just a casual affair.

Wow, I always wrote off Tonic as a one-hit wonder band...

But I just picked up Lemon Parade in a clearance bin, and it is amazing...

This has to be the best song on the album, maybe along with "Open Up Your Eyes"...

I see the song as somebody (world leader; iconic figure) who is loved by all, not because of his personality, but for his fame...

The protagonist disgusts this figure, and is not afraid to change even if it means turning others against him...

Such an amazing song...I can't believe that I thought Tonic sucked a couple of days ago...

I'm thinking this song is about being somebody's bitch-letting them control you and not even really realizing it.

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Corpse I Fell In Love With
Gadjits, The
He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
