Holy shit nobody has said anything interesting about this song. To me, "hunted down" is a perfect example of a grunge song. It's intense and seriously energizing... Awesome song.
Early grunge at its finest. It paints a vivid picture of entrapment and escape.
Nirvana's "School" does sound somewhat similar, though it was released 2 years after Hunted Down.
I think this is about someone nieve who gets themselves in a situation they can't get out of. Someone who thought they were being really clever and ended up becoming the victim.
This songis intense! i love it at the moment because i am angery at a stupid ass brat who hurt me so it just seems to fit.

Sounds like an escaped convict from a prison. The starving dogs on his trail are those of the police trying to catch him. He has to disguise himself for the rest of his life so that no one catches him.
