I was lying on the grass of Sunday morning of last week
Indulging in my self-defeat
My mind was thugged, all laced and bugged, all twisted, wrong and beat
A comfortable three feet deep
Now the fuzzy stare from not being there on a confusing morning week
Impaired my tribal lunar speak
And of course you can't become if you only say what you would have done
So I missed a million miles of fun

I know it's up for me
(If you steal my sunshine)
Making sure I'm not in too deep
(If you steal my sunshine)
Keeping versed and on my feet
(If you steal my sunshine)

I was frying on the bench slide in the park across the street
L-A-T-E-R that week
My sticky paws were into making straws out of big fat slurpy treats
An incredible eight-foot heap
Now the funny glare to pay a gleaming tare in a staring under heat
Involved an under usual feat
And I'm not only among but I invite who I want to come
So I missed a million miles of fun

I know it's up for me
(If you steal my sunshine)
Making sure I'm not in too deep
(If you steal my sunshine)
Keeping versed and on my feet
(If you steal my sunshine)

I know it's done for me
(If you steal my sunshine)
Not some and hard to see
(If you steal my sunshine)
Keeping dumb and built to beat
(If you steal my sunshine)

My sunshine, if you steal my sunshine
My sunshine, if you steal my sunshine
My sunshine, if you steal my sunshine
My sunshine, if you steal my sunshine
My sunshine, if you steal my sunshine
My sunshine, if you steal my sunshine
My sunshine, if you steal my sunshine
My sunshine, if you steal my sunshine
My sunshine, if you steal my sunshine

"tribal lunar-speak" is the key to the lyrics of the song. The female singer is referring to the "tribe" women belong to. Women's "cycles" are entrained on a 28 day rhythm. During the month 400-600 million little critters may enter "paradise" or Hell (=Her) and that may happen several times during a typical cycle from several different donors. At the end of 28 days, the cycle begins again. Males have their "sunshine" stolen. Only males produce gametes owing to the Y having "hijacked" the sex determining chromosome 300 mya. Proof of that interpretation? Near the end of the video a pregnant woman is shown baring her belly. Biology is key to understanding relations between men and women as portrayed in music video but mythology is no less important. "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel is a good example where biology is important, however, the hammer is a mythological reference as is the symbol for Tao. The video opens to a bunch of sperm swimming next to and attempting to fertilize an egg.

I believe it is a disquisition on Canadian identity.

"Shar and I had this killer fight, and she totally wasn't speaking to me," Costanzo explained. "I didn't know what to say to her to fix things, and I was completely bummed, so I just went home and wrote that song. It's about me trying to tell her how much I need her around — she's my sunshine," he said.chartattack.com/damn/1999/19990924.html

    You folks have dirty minds!

It's a song about being depressed/upset....and someone making you more depressed.

"Stealing my sunshine" means taking away the happiness.

Um, did anyone ever think that maybe this song is about being unhappy because of someone else? 'Cause if you listen really really closely in the beginning of the song, you'll hear them saying things like "I wonder why him/her is so down." Some songs don't have double meanings, but hell, let's be like everyone else and think that every song is about sex and drugs, shall we?

sunshine=virginity... she was contemplating whether to give it up and the speaking parts are of her love interest's friends who are wondering if "karen" and her love interest commited this act my opinion the verses are of what events took place and how the singers felt afterwards

Well that doesn't explain all of it, even if they are on drugs. What's with all the speaking parts in between that aren't written here? I think she's pregnant, and they're being total jackasses about it and just laughing.

I think the drug theory might be right, except I think they might have just been smoking crack when they "wrote" it. I suspect this is just the way one talks after a 2 week crack bender and/or if one is from Canada.

Yeah, I'm changing what I said. Definately about drugs.

Actually, does anyone remember the videoclip for it? I do, and it showed the girl (Sharon..or Karen..whatever) lying on the grass...and then later on in the song it shows her and Mark together, and she is quite obviously pregnant. The lines "So i missed a million miles of fun", could be showing this, that they got pregnant at a young age and werent able to experience everything the rest of their friends did, such as late nite parties etc

Warren wanted a Beach Boys thing for this one, and Carl Wilson and Billy Hinsche came in, with Carl arranging the vocal parts. The other harmony vocalists (credited as the "Gentlemen Boys") were Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther, Zevon's longtime backers Waddy Wachtel and Jorge Calderon, and Linda Rondstadt/Stone Poneys guitarist Kenny Edwards.

"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
