Welcome Home Lyrics

Grandma' welcome home... You have
been gone for far too long
Is this a dream, are You really back?
Let me help You out of the chair...
Grandma'
Let me touch You, let me feel... Ahhh
Grandma' take a look
What do You think of the house and
the silvery moon?
We are going to repaint the front door
soon
Let me help You out of the chair...
Grandma'
Let me touch You, let me feel... Ahhh
Wait till You see Your room up in the
attic
Prepared just like You said, without a
bed
You will find Your rocking chair and
the tea pot that Missy found
Let me help You out of the chair...
Grandma'
There is someone waiting for You,
now come along
Missy and Mother, they are dying to
meet You
How strange... she's spoken no word...
I wonder Grandma'! Are You all right?
Grandma' what was it like to be on
that holiday site
"Oh it could have been worse but
with "THEM" by my side
In the twilight "THEY" sang all the old
lullabies"
Grandma' who are "THEY"... "never
mind You dirty little brat"
"Let us go inside, something's on
"THEIR" mind
"THEY" are still alive, can You feel
"THEIR" eyes
Can You feel "THEIR" eyes?
Now that You are stuck with me You
better be my friend.

This song is the beginning of the story regarding the grandma coming home from an asylum, and her relationship with demons and satanic worship. Grandma is crazy and hes a bit uncomfortable with that. He tells her what she requested to be set up for her arrival is taken care of and grandma tells him her time away was ok as her demons followed her to look over her, reassuring her mind as crazy. The demons crave blood. And grandma will provide it to them at any cost.

I suggest reading the album as a whole for the entire story. Very interesting. Would make a good plot for a movie.

painting the door could possibly be a reference to the angel of death coming to egypt and killing the egyptian children, and the hebrews had to paint the top of their door with the blood of the sheep in order for the angel of death to not kill them.

I definitely think that's the image he's alluding to.

Ok, to Mooney081205, what about Puppet master, what it means more specifically??

Cover art for Welcome Home lyrics by King Diamond

ok then Mooney081205, if all the king diamond songs have a more significant meaning....what is this song supposed to be, other then the perfect song for jay and silent bob in clerks II?

GMPB. Your wrong there. There's alot of deeper meanings, maybe not so much on single songs, but on entire albums. Usually it's about Satanism, the strugle with good and evil. The way people act and deal with each other in stresful situations. Good example is the puppet master story, try yourself, if you can see it now ;).

Ever think this song is a tribute to Metallica? Metallica have covered many King Diamond/Mercyful Fate songs and are known to be huge fans of them, so possibly the title and the subject matter of this song is a tribute to Metallica and their song Welcome Home (Sanitarium), which has a very similar name and is also about an asylum.

Not to mention, King Diamond has an album called The Puppet Master which could be a reference to Metallica's Master of Puppets.

Coincidence? I think not.

@BendOverRover

Um, no. They're self contained stories. They have nothing to do with Metallica.

"Welcome Home" is simply about the Grandmother Coming Home. And "Puppet Master" is the name of the main Antagonist from that album.
