This song is actually about a person that became an alcoholic because he lost someone he loved. We can see this from the first verse: "Red, red wine, Go to my head, Make me forget that I, Still need her so". Still need her so obviously means he never got over the fact he lost her, and he drinks red wine to help him forget about her. We know the person is dependent on alcohol (an alcoholic) by this verse: "Red red wine you make me feel so fine, You keep me rocking all of the time". The person has become an alcoholic because when he drinks the red wine it makes him feel better, although it makes him feel bad the next morning, it makes him forget about the horrible memories of losing this loved person: "Red, red wine, Its up to you, All I can do, Ive done, But memries wont go, No, memries wont go". We can also see that his dependencies on alcohol have came about because he knows the red wine will never leave him like his ex-girlfriend: "Red, red wine, Stay close to me, Dont let me be alone, Its tearin` apart, My blue, blue heart". What an amazing song, a girl I once dated opened up my chest and ripped my heart out and stamped all over it. If I had of came across this song earlier I may not feel the way I do about it all now. What a shame that such a beautiful world can be so tragic at the same time, nature over nurture!

such a sad song,how he needs to get drunk to forget about his ex

I'd have to say this is probably one of the catchiest songs I've ever heard that's meant to inspire nothing but hopeless grief. Not only is the singer inconsolable about losing his woman, but now he sings an ode to his wine, imploring it to take him down into drunken oblivion. It very promptly does so, reducing the rest of the song to increasingly incoherent babbling. The whole situation portrayed is about as close as anyone can come to committing suicide without actually dying.

I think the lyrics are "You give me whole heap of zing" not "You give me holy pahzing". LOL.

This song kix! I love it soo much. It reminds me of my brother's friends cousin, who happens to be my friend. We were sittin in the car and he was like "O, I love this song!" Then I was all like "For real?! So do I!" So then we jammed out to it in the backseat! It was so fun.

As he says in his first verse,"red,red wine goes to my head,makes me forget about her so." We can tell that the man is having a lot of trouble forgetting about his past with a girl. We may listen to his second verse where he says ,"red,red wine it's up to you all i can do, I've done memories wont go, memories won't go." By him saying," its up to you" it shows that he is fully depending on wine to get rid of his heartache. "I just thought that with time ,thoughts of you would leave my head i was wrong, now i find that just one thing makes me forget" it infers that he found "one thing" that helps him forget about his memories with his past girl. "I loved you right from the start " shows that his aching heart caused a strong need toward his "love" in other words he is addicted to wine, because it makes him get things off his mind. "Im gonna hold on to you cause i know your love true" shows him being stubborn over letting his "love" go because his love wont ever break his heart like anyone else would. "Love you till i die and that's no lie" is informing us that he will never stop regardless of his "love" ending with his life.
