Along with having performed on many different stages in various off-Broadway shows, Stiles has found the time to be involved in three different albums for three plays. Her first album recording was singing for the role of Joanne, for the musical, Vanities the Musical. Her second album recording was when she sang the character Nazirah for the musical, The Road to Qatar. Most recently, she can be heard on the album for the musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach as the Spider. In 2016, she teamed up with Gary Lucas to record Gary Lucas' Fleischerei: Music from Max Fleischer Cartoons.
In 2020, she released her first EP, You Can Ukulele With Me. On that album, Stiles shows her skill at playing the ukulele, an instrument she has been known to play: in one episode of Get Shorty, Stiles played the ukulele for two songs (one of which, "Simple Song of Love (The La La Song)", was performed for her show Squirrel Heart, and would show up in re-recorded form as the lead-off track from You Can Ukulele With Me); and she played it in the aforementioned Squirrel Heart show.
As an actress, she performed the role of Kate Monster/Lucy the Slut in Avenue Q, and performed in the musical Vanities, in which she played the character of Joanne. She was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play in 2015 for her performance in Hand to God[2] and the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical in 2019 for her performance in Tootsie.[3] She also voiced Spinel in Steven Universe: The Movie (2019), and Steven Universe Future (2020). She can also be heard as diva Emma Olivia in As the Curtain Rises, an original Broadway soap opera from the Broadway Podcast Network.
Simple Song of Love

I thought we were
Will she pull through this
What will come of her?
Should I pursue him?
What happens then?
Could I go to him?
Was anything real?
Was he just pretending
In order to steal?
This can't be the ending!
You got yourself in this position
Bronwyn you have to summon some ambition
To get what's yours
You cannot stay behind these doors...
It's just a stoop
Something to stand on
It's just a block of grey cement
Something to land on
But it's the first step
For these unused feet
It's just a street.
There are no wolves
There is no villain
There's just a chance to flee this cage
That I am still in
Life is a stranger
Now it's time to meet
It's just a street.
Watching from that window
At the lives passing by
I'll wither in that window
As I'm watching myself die!
I can't wait until tomorrow
For some god to look my way
I'll sacrifice tomorrow
To be alive today!
It's just a world!
It's just a people!
It's just a chance to dress in white
Under a steeple!
It's just a sidewalk
It's just some concrete
It's just a stoop
It's just a step
It's just a cross
It's just a love
It's just a life
It's just a street!
The lyrics of Sarah Stiles's "Simple Song of Love" convey a sense of confusion, loss, and the search for answers within a relationship. The singer questions the intentions and authenticity of their partner, wondering if their love was genuine or a facade meant to deceive. They also grapple with the decision of whether to pursue the relationship or let go.
In the first verse, the singer expresses their disbelief and hurt, wondering how their partner could have acted in such a way. They question whether the person they love will be able to overcome the situation and what the future holds for them. The second verse delves into the singer's internal struggle, contemplating whether it is worth pursuing their partner or if they should let go. They question the timing and urge themselves to take action.
The chorus emphasizes the importance of taking the first step, even if it seems insignificant. The stoop and the street symbolize the starting point for the singer's journey of self-discovery and growth. It represents a chance to break free from their comfort zone and embrace the unknown. The following lines highlight the absence of villains or external forces holding the singer back. Instead, it's an opportunity to escape the self-imposed limitations and constraints they have placed upon themselves. Life is portrayed as a stranger waiting to be explored and understood.
The final verse describes the singer's longing to break free from their stagnant state, observing the lives of others from the window and feeling trapped. They express a sense of urgency, unwilling to wait for a divine intervention or expect tomorrow to bring change. Instead, they sacrifice the future to live in the present moment.
