Vieraassa suurkaupungissa
Riisuin takkini
Aukion reunalta
Ihmiset katosivat
Mustiin tunneleihin
Tajusin hetkeni
Asia josta minut tunnisti
Enää muutama askel
Enkä löytyisi
Seisoin pimeässä
Ja nauroin
Olinhan juuri syntynyt
Ja olinhan juuri kuollut
Ja vaikka pian kaikki päättyisi
Vaikka kohdatessamme sanoisimme
Kaikki on nyt hyvin
Olin kotona
Olin kotona
Olin kotona
Olin kotona
Olin kotona
Kotona
Kotona
Olin kotona
Olin kotona
The song Terminal 2 by Scandinavian Music Group is a beautiful and emotional portrayal of a person's journey of getting lost in a big city and finding themselves in the process. The lyrics describe the singer's experience of getting separated from the crowd in a big city and losing their identity, represented by them taking off their jacket. As they wander aimlessly, they come to realize that in that moment, they are truly themselves, stripped of all societal expectations and pressures.
The lyrics then take a philosophical turn as the singer realizes that this feeling of being lost and found is a cycle that everyone experiences in life. This realization leads to a sense of acceptance and peace, symbolized by the repetition of the phrase "Olin kotona" (I was at home). In the end, the singer accepts their vulnerability and finds comfort in the fact that everyone undergoes similar journeys of identity and self-discovery.
The music of the song perfectly complements the lyrics, with its gentle melody and the emotive vocals of the lead singer. The use of repetition, both in the lyrics and the music, adds to the hypnotic and comforting quality of the song. Overall, Terminal 2 is a beautiful and thought-provoking song that captures the essence of human vulnerability and the journey of finding oneself in life.
